Student Intern — Western Research Institute is seeking an organized, detail-oriented and responsive individual to work with petroleum emulsions and organic synthesis for an internship in our Asphalt & Petroleum Technologies Business Unit.

Intern will primarily be responsible for analyzing asphalt samples by dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) and helping with safety. Position requires working with some hazardous and flammable solvents and wearing personal protective equipment (gloves and safety glasses). Under the direction of the project manager or designee, the Intern will perform sample testing and assist in data analysis for reporting requirements. Intern will also participate with team members in assessing solutions to testing issues.    

Position requires undergraduate or graduate training in Civil, Chemical or Petroleum engineering or Chemistry with laboratory research experience.
