With the National Expressway Network Plan in the works, the Chinese government will add 52,000 miles of expressway connecting all the provincial capitals and major cities over the next 30 years. For road materials know-how, the Chinese turned to Western Research Institute, the organizer of the Petersen Asphalt Research Conference for technical advice.
A new conference on asphalt materials in China to be held August 6-7, 2009, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, will be modeled after the Petersen Asphalt Research Conference, which has been held in Laramie, Wyoming, for more than 45 years. Selected papers from the conference will be published in Road Materials and Pavement Design and Journal of Testing and Evaluation.
Preliminary conference program and registration will be available June 1, 2009.
