Justin Martin promoted to Vice President for Sustainable Emerging Technologies (SET)
WRI is pleased to announce the promotion of Justin Martin to Vice President for Sustainable Emerging Technologies (SET).
Mr. Martin has worked at the at Western Research Institute since 2013, where he has held positions of senior process engineer, lead process engineer, operations manager, program director and is currently acting as Vice President of sustainable emerging technologies. During his time with Western Research Institute, he has assisted in applying his process knowledge to the development and advancement of the MEG Energy/Suncor heavy oil/bitumen partial upgrading technology to a commercial ready technology. More recently he has been involved in helping developing plastic recycling technologies, advancing coal to asphalt material applications, evaluating fouling mitigation applications for refineries, as well as assisting to advance a variety of additional projects.
He began his professional career with Halliburton Energy Services as a Production Enhancement Field Engineer assisting various companies in the completion of oil well enhancement projects.
He has since taken on roles in leading business development for the sustainable emerging technology group and helping guide a variety of projects within Western Research Institute. He also acts as the acting as the WRI Environmental, Safety, and Health Supervisor.
Mr. Martin obtained a chemical engineering degree from the University of Wyoming in 2012 and a Masters of Business Management from the University of Wyoming in 2019.
